Any Buddhist disciple should avoid taking anything from anywhere knowing it belongs to another.
He should neither steal, nor swindle, nor incite others to steal or cheat. He should completely
avoid all theft, deception and fraud. Sutta Nipata 2.397
The second Basic Buddhist Training-rule (precept) is avoiding taking what is not given.
Avoidance of all stealing, cheating, fraud, theft, embezzlement and misappropriating of
any kind of valuables from any individual or organization that pure & for all advantageous
behaviour induces a safe harmony personally and also in any society.
